No garden is complete without Kale. Premier is a wonderful heirloom variety with good old-fashioned taste. Crunchy leaves, tasty, vigorous are just a few of the words that describe Premier Kale. 18-24" tall with upright, dark green leaves. An early variety of kale that produces copious amounts of tasty green leaves. Smooth leaves with scalloped edges. Plant in the spring or fall to over-winter Premier keeping the plant compact. This will result in a higher spring production and resist bolting 3-4 weeks longer. Extremely high in antioxidants and beta carotene. Kale is a real super-food! This variety is no exception and it is very flavorful. TIP Kale is much tastier (to me) after the first fall freeze or harvest leaves while they are still young.. Kale is easily grown from seed. They do prefer a cooler growing temperatures. So it is best to plant them in early spring, as soon as the soil is workable or in the fall for end of year growth. They can be grown for a fall crop and seed should be planted in late July for an early fall crop. Kale are high in vitamins and a healthy choice of vegetable to add to your diet. They taste delicious steamed, stir-fried, added to soups and are great to mix with other greens. Traditional greens are most often grown in the South.

They can be grown in most area in the US. Maturity is 50-65 days.

Seeds can be sown directly into garden when soil is warm.

Zones 3-10 All seeds are packaged and for the current growing season.
