Trumpet Mix Daffodil Bulbs
Stunning blooms with deep golden yellow petals and a large cup; a reliable perennial with clumps that will multiply and spread over time; impressive when massed, this variety will surely deliver a punch of color to the spring garden. Trumpet mix are heirlooms that represented a breakthrough in breeding when it was introduced early in the 20th century. Daffodil aficionados paid as much as 500 pounds sterling to have it, a king's ransom at the time. And though it no longer appears on daffodil show benches, it is still valued for landscape plantings because its yellow and soft orange coloring carries a long distance and it is a reliable and enduring perennial. It's also an excellent daffodil mix for the Deep South. Daffodils are a herbaceous perennial with an upright spreading habit of growth. Its relatively fine texture sets it apart from other garden plants with less refined foliage. This is a relatively low maintenance perennial, and is best cleaned up in early spring before it resumes active growth for the season. Deer don't particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone in favor of tastier treats.
